Any references to Operation da Vinci in this document will refer to the project itself, to the opdavinci.com website or to David Allende i Daroca, as its owner and manager.

Purpose of this website

Offer a space where artists can selflessly share their artworks, leaving them in the public space, so that the people who collect them can freely enjoy them.

Artists

It is understood to release an artwork by the fact of leaving an artwork in the public space with the intention that someone finds it and can take it freely, without asking for anything in return.

The artist who decides to participate in Operation da Vinci project, releasing one of his/her artworks, accepts:

  • Leaving one of his/her artworks in the public space with the intention that someone finds it and takes it away to enjoy it freely.
  • That the artwork that it’s released is his/hers and that in no case is a plagiarism of another work.
  • To protect the artwork as much as necessary so that it cannot be damaged, for example by bad weather.
  • To register on the opdavinci.com website by providing your full name and a functional contact email.
  • To print the letter that you will find in the form that you must fill out to release an artwork and attach it to the work before leaving it in the public space.
  • To provide a real and current image of the artwork.
  • To facilitate its geolocation in which the artwork has been left.
  • To provide a truthful description of the released artwork.
  • To do not leave the artwork in spaces with prohibited access.
  • To leave the artwork in locations accessible to anyone.
  • To do not leave the artwork in places that endanger people who want to access it.
  • To facilitate access to the site for people with reduced mobility.
  • That his work of art can be publicly exhibited if Operation da Vinci it is decides so in order to make a collective exhibition of the released works.
  • That the person who has collected the work can release it when they consider that they have enjoyed it enough time and that the time has come for someone else to enjoy it.
  • That participating in the Operation da Vinci project carries the risk that the artwork may be lost, damaged or vandalized.
  • That Operation da Vinci is not responsible for what may happen to the artwork at any stage of the project.

The artist who decides to participate in the Operation da Vinci project by releasing one of his/her works, renounces:

  • To claim the return of the artwork.
  • To request financial compensation of any kind.
  • To claim no responsibility from Operation da Vinci if the released work is damaged, whether due to bad weather, vandalism or any other reason.
  • To claim no responsibility from Operation da Vinci if the released work ends up lost because it was not picked up by any other person.
  • To claim no responsibility from Operation da Vinci if the person who has collected the artwork has taken it incorrectly or without providing a functional contact email, therefore losing the traceability of the work.

People who collects an artwork

Picking up an artwork from the Operación da Vinci is understood as taking it from the public space freely to enjoy it, without being asked for anything in return.

Re-release of an artwork is understood as the act of re- releasing a previously collected work.

The person who decides to participate by collecting an artwork from the Operation da Vinci project, accepts:

  • That the collected work of art is not a property and it gives the person the right to enjoy it as much as possible and also carries the duty to take care of it as much as possible so that it does not get damaged.
  • That you cannot sell the artwork you have collected to third parties.
  • To provide a functional contact email.
  • That the collected artwork can participate in a collective exhibition if Operation da Vinci decides so, facilitating its collection and delivery.
  • That Operation da Vinci is not responsible for anything that may cause the artwork collected.

The person who decides to participate by collecting an artwork from the Operation da Vinci project, waives:

  • To request financial compensation of any kind.
  • To try to get some kind of economic benefit from the collected artwork.
  • To claim no responsibility to Operation da Vinci if the collected artwork is damaged for any reason.

The person who had collected an artwork and now decides to participate by re-liberating an art work from the Operation da Vinci project, accepts:

  • To leave the artwork wanted, to release in the public space with the intention that someone will find it and to take it away and enjoy it freely.
  • That the work of art that you wish to release is not your authorship nor is it your property.
  • To protect the artwork as much as necessary so that it cannot be damaged, for example by bad weather.
  • To print the letter that you will find in the form that you must fill out to release a work and attach it to the work before leaving it in the public space.
  • To facilitate its geolocation in which the artwork has been left.
  • Not to leave the work in spaces with prohibited access.
  • To leave the work in locations accessible by anyone.
  • Not to leave the artwork in places that endanger people who want to access it.
  • To facilitate access to the site for people with reduced mobility.

The person who had collected a work and now decides to participate by re-releasing a work from the Operation da Vinci project, renounces:

  • To request financial compensation of any kind.
  • To claim no responsibility from Operation da Vinci if the released work is damaged, whether due to bad weather, vandalism or any other reason.
  • To claim no responsibility from Operation da Vinci if the re-released work ends up lost because it was not picked up by any other person.
  • To claim no responsibility from Operation da Vinci if the person who has collected the work has taken it incorrectly or without providing a functional contact email, thus losing the traceability of the work.

Operation da Vinci

Operation da Vinci project and its managers are not responsible for the artworks that participate in the project itself, for the affectations that they may cause or that may be received. The web, the project itself and managers only act as a gateway between the artists and the people who want to enjoy their artwork.

Operation da Vinci is not responsible for how, where and when artworks are left in public space or for what may result from wanting to access these works.

Operation da Vinci will not request by any means any economic compensation or promote the payment or collection.
